CSD
Custom Systems Division

CSD is a division of Irish
& Associates. CSD began manufacturing of skid mounted systems in 1979. All systems are
engineered, designed and manufactured in-house in Mobile.
Complete Solutions
CSD combines pumps, heat
exchangers, valves (manual and control), tanks, reactors, piping and instrumentation into
complex systems. Tanks too large for skid mounting are shipped separately. All components
are mounted on skid bases, piped and electric-wired to customers tie-in points prior to
shipment. Only final tie-in and startup is required at jobsite. Startup assistance of an CSD
technician is available.
Staff
CSD has a staff of
experienced engineers using AutoCad® for technical design and drafting. Each design phase
is coordinated with machine, fabrication and instrumentation shop personnel to determine
the optimum design in terms of manufacturing procedures.
Facilities
CSD maintains in-house
machining, fabrication, and control valve shop. Digital position monitoring is employed on
all machine tools including milling machines, lathes, drill presses and keyseater to
control tolerances to within ±.0005". The fabrication shop features welding
techniques such as flux-core arc, MIG and TIG on a leveled, fixtured platen table to
control accuracy of assembly and welding. Welding procedures comply to ASME codes, when
required. The control valve shop tests and calibrates each component and each control
valve.
Actuators
Designed to automate
valves, dampers and mechanical equipment. Systems include pneumatic, electric or
hydraulic actuators with such accessories as pneumatic or electric
positioner; electric or
air-pilot solenoid: limit switches; air or electric fail-safe; lockup systems; manual
overrides; mounting/adaptation; weather-tight enclosures, and floor
stand mounting.

TYPICAL SYSTEMS MANUFACTURED BY CUSTOM SYSTEMS DIVISION
DFD - Thick
Stock Pumping System
Medium to High Consistency Stock
For 7% to 18% consistency stock. System
components include pump with variable frequency drive, special drop-leg, dilution system,
level control, and unique base design for easy pump maintenance access.
Heat Exchanging
These include heat recovery, constant
temperature control, and closed loop interchangers. Heat exchangers of any type, including
shell and tube, plate and frame, spiral and electric can be utilized for optimum
performance for any given application.
Thermal Fluid
"Hot Oil Systems" use thermal
fluids as safe, efficient alternatives to steam. Temperatures to 750°F can be achieved at
pressures as low as 50 psi. Systems consist of a heater or boiler, deaerator, expansion
tank, pumps, controls and safety equipment.
Pumps
Single, duplex and multiple types. Systems
consist of motors, drives, baseplate, relief and control valves, and instruments. Systems
designed to satisfy wide variety of requirements.
Condensate Recovery
Designed to collect, flash, deaerate and
return condensate back to boiler. Systems include pumps, valves, heat exchangers, flash
tank and all required controls.
