VANTON CHEM-GARDŽ

Pump HF, HCL, H2SO4, HNO3, Slurries,
Caustics, Solvents...virtually anything.
Vanton Chem-Gard pumps are built to take it. They're rugged and they're
dependable. And they last a long time. Many unites have been in the field for more than
ten years...operating 24 hours a day, requiring little or no maintenance of any type.
Unlike many other pumps that are
essentially conversions from less demanding services, the Vanton Chem-Gard was designed
and engineered from inception to handle large volumes of chemical and corrosive fluids.
All components in the wetted end of the
pumps are molded of these "engineered plastice": PVC, CPVC, EDTFE (Halar), PVDF
(Kynar) and Polypropylene. Since these materials are inert to most chemicals, you can even
pump ultra pure chemicals without fear of contamination.
When compared to special metal alloy or
fiberglass reinforced pumps, the heavy-duty molded plastic Chem-Gard can cost substantially
less for comparable service conditions. Not only are the initial savings substantial, but
you can also expect quicker deliveries and longer service life.
The use of corrosion resistant engineered
plastics in the wetted end completely eliminates the chance of metallic contamination of
your solution. You'll also find the Chem-Gard suitable for a wider range of applications
than highly specialized metal alloy or FRP pumps. Unlike FRP pumps, all Chem-Gard
thermoplastic pumps have a homogeneous structure which precludes any possibility of
chemical absorption into the interior section. Bleeding or "wicking" is
impossible, so after proper flushing, pumps can be safely used for various chemical
services without fear of contamination. The Vanton Chem-Gard comes base-mounted in
capacities from 5 GPM to 1000 GPM, with temperature capabilities to 275°F. Unique sliding
front bearing design and light weight impeller allow first critical speeds in excess of
20,000 rpm.
All units from the CG-200 to CG-1800
including the self priming Prime-Gard PG-150 and PG-450 utilize the same pedestal
assembly which allows you to stock a minimum number of spare parts to service the complete
range of Chem-Gard pumps and permits the capacity of a given unit to be increased or
decreased by merely changing heads and impellers.
Chem-Gard is a family of pumps which can be
tailored to fit your needs using "off the shelf" components.
VANTON CGA CHEM-GARDŽ/ANSI
These quality built end suction
thermoplastic pumps with centerline discharge and back pullout construction, combine the
award winning wide open seal area features of the innovative Chem-GardŽ line of
thermoplastic pumps with the standard dimensional and performance characteristics embodied
in ANSI specification B 73.1 developed for the process industries. They are fully
interchangeable with any other pump are fully interchangeable with any other pump
manufactured to this American National Standards Institute specification without
disturbing piping, baseplate, foundation, driver or coupling. At the same time, they
incorporate the construction and performance-proven liquid end features that have made the
Vanton Chem-Gard series of thermo-plastic pumps the leader in the industry.
For maximum corrosion and abrasion
resistance, the pump casing and impeller are molded from solid, homogeneous, engineered
plastics. The readily adjustable sliding inboard bearing design provides for quick and
easy mechanical seal inspection while at the same time minimizing impeller shaft overhang
for higher critical speeds and maximum seal life. The expanded, wide open seal area
accommodates any commercially available seal. Another unique design feature assures that
the plastic casing and flanges are totally enclosed and armored with metal so that even
the nozzle loadings are carried by metal. This permits Chem-Gard ANSI (CGA) plastic pumps
to be exposed to the same loading as metal pumps while limiting fluid contact exclusively
to non-metallic components.
The Vanton CGA pumps are designed to
accommodate those optional features required to meet the most stringent EPA standards for
pollution control and safe operation. This includes primary seal leak detection and
provision for thermocouple monitoring of temperatures within the pump. The rugged
construction of these solid molded plastic pumps and the various creative design features
make them ideal for the use in installations involving toxic, noxious or corrosive
liquids.
VANTON CGM / MAG DRIVE

Dual non-metallic containment can assembly.
Teflon inner can to resist corrosive fluids, backed by a rugged, pressure resistant FRP
outer can eliminating troublesome eddy currents. Provision is made for monitoring devices
between cans.
Teflon sleeve and cap completely isolates
large diameter stainless steel shaft from the fluid.
Heavy duty pump casing and
stationary
bearing housing are molded from homogeneous virgin thermoplastic (PVC, Polypropylene,
PVDG). Completely protected by structural metal armor, this design withstands the same
nozzle loadings as metal pumps.
High performance, permanent rare earth
magnets provide power ratings to 60 HP for flow rates to 1200 GPM at heads to 280 feet.
Inner magnet rotor assembly is completely encapsulated in Teflon.
Oversized stationary bearings of silicon
carbide, and oversized rotating sleeve/thrust bearings of ultrapure aluminaceramic assure
quiet, dependable operation and long trouble-free life. Bearings are locked in place by
anti-rotation keys.
Dynamically and hydraulically balanced, key
driven, thermoplastic closed impeller insures positive drive.
Unique design provides wide open passages
for fresh cooling and lubricating of individual components.
Drive shaft bearing housing furnished with
heavy duty grease lubricated ball bearings. Design is readily adaptable to other
conventional lubrication methods.
Optional air-cooled dry running tertiary
seal. (API requirement.)
ANSI dimensions facilitate retrofitting of
conventional mechanically sealed pumps.
